The southernmost point of Europe…
Day 0
The Mediterranean on the left, the Atlantic Ocean on the right, the mountains of Morocco just ahead, 36º0’10″N 5º36’34″W, altitude: 0m… that’s it, we’re there! The southernmost point of continental Europe!… From here, we head straight north until the road ends!…

After three days of non stop torrential rain (up to 90 L/m2 near Malaga and 50 L/m2 in Torre del Mar, where we were), we were quite happy to see the sun and a blue sky again, this morning, when leaving… The magnificent sunset last night, with rainbow over the sea and the snow-capped mountains just a stone’s throw from the beach had already given us a clue about the weather to come… So, arriving in Tarifa with dust-free air and seeing the Moroccan mountains right there, almost within reach, it was quite impressive!… It would almost make you want to board the first ferry and cross these barely 14 km of the Strait of Gibraltar, just to have put Marvin’s wheels on another continent, but… it’s the great north that awaits us, and… it’s not really the same direction…
So… Day 0 of the adventure. A whole afternoon to enjoy the sea on one side, the ocean on the other, walk a little on the beach and above all, taste an excellent “arroz marinera” at the Pescadería de Tarifa (“THE” restaurant where you have to go if you pass by here!). As of tomorrow, we’re heading north!…
Tonight, we’re sleeping by the ocean, in Tarifa, and tomorrow, we’re going up to the mouth of the Guadalquivir!
