    We left the ocean to head inland, hoping to find some peace and quiet, far from the hordes of tourists invading the coastline… So here we are in the Périgord, discovering the different facets of this pretty, rather peaceful region, from the banks of the Charente to the east of the Brive Basin…

    That’s the inspired title of the regional tourism magazine in Brittany (although the play of words really only works in French), since this week we left Normandy (in style) to head to neighbouring Brittany. We are now in the land of Asterix, menhirs, and crêpes (and Calvados, marinières, bagpipes, Kouign-amann, and… lots of other things!) 😁

    A somewhat unusual format this week, due to a temporary pause in our adventure. We’re still in Cherbourg, and everything is going well, but family circumstances meant we had to take a break and let Marvin enjoy a few days of vacation in the Cotentin Peninsula…

    Our crossing of England was shorter than expected. It must be said that the country did nothing to keep us there any longer, and the discovery of a ferry line to France closer than the port of Dover was undoubtedly a sign… So here we are in France for the final part of this adventure, on the Normandy coast…

    We left the coast and the ocean to explore a little of inland Britain. We also left Scotland this week to head to England, with a beautiful finale in Edinburgh, the Scottish capital, which offered us two beautiful sunny days to wander through its medieval-style streets…
