We continue our journey north, this week with Bantry Bay and the Beara Peninsula, and we leave County Cork (it might not seem like it, but it’s big!…) to reach County Kerry, and therefore, the peninsula of the same name… And on the way, we go back to a more… Irish weather…
As expected, the weather quickly returned to sunny, even if the wind didn’t really ease. But nothing could have stopped us from exploring the surroundings of the Comeragh Mountains, so we set off to conquer Knockaunapeebra, the 724m peak dominating the area…
First week in Ireland after a dream crossing from Bilbao, and so far, the Emerald Island is welcoming us with magnificent sunshine! So all those stories about it raining all the time here are just unfounded rumors?ā¦ š¤
Yes, it’s true, the video is longer than usual, but it sums up the two weeks of this first stage, which took us from Andorra to Bilbao. Plus, the soundtrack is really good, and there’s even a surprise at the end (for those who will have held out this far)ā¦ š
The storms follow one another and are strangely similarā¦ Lots of rain and a night in a blizzard were on the agenda for the last few days, before the sun finally returned and we could finally enjoy the beautiful landscapes of Navarreā¦
A short break in Huesca, where we took the opportunity to get Marvin’s AdBlue hose repaired, and also to get a new SIM card to get internet again. We also decided to stay here while waiting for Storm Laurence to pass, so as not to be in the middle of the desert at that moment. In short, a logistical stopā¦ before heading off again!
So here we are, off on a new adventure, this time on the Atlantic coast of Europe (you’d think we got a taste for the rain last yearā¦ š¤). After 5 months of almost being sedentary, it was high time to rediscover the thrill of adventure aboard Marvin! For these first stages, we left the snow-covered Andorran peaks (better late than never) to reach a desert, or more precisely, a semi-desert, on our way to the Atlanticā¦
After about 5 months of being sedentary, it was high time to get back on the road (and resurrect this blog at the same time)… But what did we do during 5 months?… We weren’t really busy skiing (or maybe on grass, perhaps, since this winter will have broken records in terms of lack of…
It’s a bit difficult to turn the page and think about what’s nextā¦ We always tend to delve back into the memories of the last seven months, whether looking at photos, merging the GPX files of each stage to have the complete itinerary of the adventure or choosing a project to which we would allocate our carbon offsetā¦
The adventure ends after 7 months and 19 countries visited. Back to the starting point, in Andorra, where it all began, on 13 March this year. A few small administrative details to sort out, and we will be ready for the next adventure. After this extraordinary experience, we are not going to stop there!ā¦
